Clover Compact
Clover Compact is built around a simple idea: give a business full POS functionality without taking up counter space it doesn't have. It includes a high-speed thermal printer built directly into the unit, so there's no separate printer cabling or extra footprint to plan around.
Checkout supports tap, chip, and swipe, with receipts sent by SMS or email if a customer doesn't want a paper copy. Day-to-day management adding inventory, running a time clock, setting up loyalty apps happens through the app rather than a separate back-office system, which keeps the learning curve short for a new staff member.
On the security side, it's P2PE encrypted and PCI compliant, meaning card data is encrypted at the point of entry and the setup meets the payment card industry's security standards relevant for any business that needs to satisfy compliance requirements during a processor review.
At $50, it's the most affordable Clover countertop option here, aimed at businesses that need real functionality in a small space.
